So, with that information, you answer your own question, cause I do not know what you mean with the verb "tried".Ĭould you please recommend something to read? Anything before that (either deep beta-1 or mid beta-2) will be a test. I'd expect that the game will not be played till mid beta-2. The game is not expected to be played till deep into beta-1, and that is the best case scenario.

So far, the game has been TESTED, and not played. Regardless, yes, the game will be released next year. MJ estimates that the whole process will last a year, but I am less optimistic and I think the game will launch at late 2019 and not mid 2019. The beta process at CU will be "old school", meaning that it will be an actual test and not just promotional shit. There is a chance that beta-3 will be the promotional beta, but probably that won't be the case. There will be three "parts" of beta, beta-1, beta-2 and beta-3, being followed by a free/open/promotional beta. These changes have been done and we are a month (or two -because of the GDPR-) away from beta-1. It was supposed to hit beta a couple of years ago, but the devs decided to postpone beta because they wanted to make some changes that included the ability system (see re-abilitation). Unfortunately we don't know if the Depths will be at launch, and if you ask me it would be a grave mistake if the game launches without them. There will be a pve element (found at the Depths for the most part) but there will be no progression from it.Įverything at CU will revolve around RvR(vR), including raiding and dominating the Depths. It is not meant to be DAoC 2.įrom my understanding (I haven't played DAoC), at DAoC you could do pve (progression). Sounds awesome but what is Camelot Unchained?

I believe you receive gold from the realm as part of the progression system, getting paid at the end of the day when you accomplish certain RvR objectives, so again you can earn the gear you want just by PvPing enough to gain the gold you need. This means there will be lots of room for alts and spec groups, and it will make it way easier to pitch the game to friends who normally get turned off by the MMO leveling process.Īlso there is progression through gear, but all gear is created by players using the Crafter class. The goal in CU is for players to be able to jump into PvP the moment they create their character. So many MMOs have a leveling up phase where you have to do quests and grind for 2 weeks or so just to achieve the bare minimum readiness for participating in PvP. I think this is going to be an awesome system. That doesn't mean there is no PvE, there are mobs in the world that drop crafting materials as well as NPC guards, but fighting them will not count towards your character progression. There's no "leveling up" but your stats and skills will improve based on the actions you take in PvP every day. Progression only comes from fighting players in PvP and completing open world RvR objectives. One of the big ways CU is different from DAoC is the progression system.
